The Leftovers
Through working with Leicester Curve as a ‘Breakthrough Company’, Sheep Soup developed a new show The Leftovers, a frank and funny exploration of love, loss and songwriting.
In a community recording studio, Jodie’s grieving friends are making a big song and dance about her death. They form a makeshift band to celebrate her life in musical form, but can’t agree on what kind of tribute Jodie would have wanted... or even who she really was. They dive into her surviving collection of diary entries, poems and secrets to make some sense of things, and to have some fun amongst the darkness of loss.
The show became the first new musical commissioned by Curve for their studio space, and a highly-acclaimed UK tour followed in May 2018 directed by Adam Lenson.
