The Leftovers

Following the sudden death of Jodie (occasional gig reviewer and the definition of misadventure), her closest friends join forces in a Nottingham recording studio. The makeshift band attempts to bring musical life to a horde of scribbles, poems, lyrics, philosophies and apologies she left behind.

They soon discover it’s a Pandora’s box full of muddled meanings and unfinished business. Jodie has left a trail of cracked relationships in her wake; a few red-hot saxophone riffs and a loop pedal aren’t going to fix that.

Following a two week Arts Council supported R&D, collaborating with fellow Curve Breakthrough artists, Tom Barnes (2Magpies Theatre) and Rachael Young, The Leftovers is the latest theatrical offering from the company.

We were invited to perform an extract of The Leftovers at the inaugural Musical Theatre Network and Mercury Musical Developments’ BEAM event at The Park Theatre in March 2016. The show was warmly received both in London, and by a panel of invited industry professionals at the Leicester Curve.

Having been offered extensive support by the Leicester Curve, the show is currently under development, and we’re looking forward to telling you more about the show soon. We have a 25 minute video extract of The Leftovers available on request.
